A Father’s work is never done

Dear readers and fellow bloggers:

Good morning. Last night we did not feel like uploading the pictures of the Pantagruelian dinner that we had with our son Gian Luca . Even though he insisted on ordering some food delivered, we preferred to treat him with a dinner of New York grilled steaks and sautée potatoes and veggies.

We peeled plenty of potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions and red peppers to slowly sautée them. Then we drained all the mixture in a colander (to get rid of all the unwanted oil residues) before putting them back. We separately prepared a Béchamel sauce with walnuts, whose recipe is in this article. Finally we heated all the mixture in La Bestia (nickname of our super-jealous chef’s pan, a she)

What do you think? Did we have a good time? You betcha. Nothing beats cooking right at home.

Bon apétit!

As you can see, a father’s (and especially a mother’s) work is never completely done. C’est la vie!

Stay distant. Stay safe. Stay beautiful.

What do you think? Please ell us.

Don’t leave me alone.

Happy Father’s Day

Dear readers and fellow bloggers:

Happy Sunday and Happy Father’s Day to all those that had the privilege of having children, With the duly respect for those that have chosen not to engage in that path, we believe that our children are God’s greatest gift to us. Nothing compares to the sheer joy and exhilaration of being a father.

Here you can see us cozying up to Gian Luca, our son, in a recent selfie taken at our desk.

And here you can see us close to our daughter Noël Marie, our daughter. Gracias hijitos queridos.

We have to especially thank their fabulous mother María Tomasa for making this miracle happen.

Can we ask for more happiness than being always, always, very close to our children. Fuggetaboutit!

We would like to thank our father Mario Laplume Salguero for giving us our precious life and for mentoring us in our intellectual endeavors. In this picture he is holding our daughter Noël Marie atop the Victoria Plaza Hotel in Montevideo, with the magnificent Palacio Salvo  in the background.

Muchas gracias Papi querido!

Stay distant. Stay safe. Stay beautiful.

What do you think? Please tell us.

Don’t leave me alone.

Happy Father’s Day

Dear readers and fellow bloggers:

Good morning and Happy Sunday. Today we are celebrating one of the nicest holidays there could possibly be and we would like to wish a Happy Father’s Day to you all. Humans are not born out of a cabbage but are the result of a loving bonding between a man and a woman that create the most wonderful phenomenon: a new human being.

Two years  ago we published an article in honor of our dear father Mario Laplume Salguero. We still stand firmly behind each and every word that we had used then. Moreover, watching our son Gian Luca become a great writer and cinematographer, we feel fortunate that his precious genetic material could be transferred through us to him.

Muchas gracias querido Pápá.

Tus hijos y nietos te agradecen haberte conocido y disfrutado tanto.

Que siempre descanses en la gloria de Dios Todopoderoso.

For those lucky enough to still have them alive, please congratulate them on our behalf.

Stay distant. Stay safe. Stay beautiful.

What do you think? Please tell us.

Don’t leave me alone.
